The Young Photographers Alliance offers the Young Photographers Alliance Awards - annual scholarships for students in financial need studying photography in colleges and universities across the United States. Awards are given based on a number of factors: quality of work, academic record, recommendations and a written statement of purpose.
For the 2009-2010 academic year, YPA is awarding three scholarships (two sponsored by YPA and one by Alamy) and two honorable mentions (also sponsored by YPA). Scholarships are administered in cooperation with the Worldstudio AIGA Scholarship Program. Winners will be presented at the Award Ceremony and Benefit Auction on October 13, 2009 in New York City.
